67 Camaros – They Started A Legend
The 1967 Camaro is one of the greatest muscle cars ever designed. I consider it a work of art, an outstanding example of automobile engineering, and as American as apple pie! It set a standard that cars of today can’t match.
The Camaro is like a good looking woman, it is shaped just right. The long hood and short deck styling makes the car seem like it is moving fast even when the car is sitting still. You can almost imagine it tearing down the road even when at rest. Muscle car power is at its maximum.
In 1966, Chevrolet countered the Ford Mustang with its version of its own muscle car. In the month of September 1966, the 67 Camaro was released to the world. The new “pony car” was a phenomenal hit. Even now, Camaros are still in production.
When it was introduced, the 67 Camaro was the only first generation Camaro to not have the RPO-Z28 Special Performance Package and the 396-cid displacement engine for SS models. Other distinquishing features include: lack of side marker lights, no front quarter windows, VIN tag mounted in door hinge pillar, center console, and had side-vent windows.
Camaros have held their own in value over the years, and are very popular with classic car collectors. Even in poor condition, a 67 Camaro is often priced at about $8,000. In fact, a Z28 in excellent condition is bringing close to $60,000 today. It is a classic car that really holds its value.
The 1967 Camaro was built on brand new rear-wheel drive GM F-body platform. The body was available as a 2-door, coupe, 2 2 seating, or a convertible.
The 67 Camaros came factory in a choice of the inline-6 and the 302, 350, 396 engines or the powerful 396 V8. Let me tell you, the 396 motor can burn tires like nobody’s business. It is a big boy’s toy, thats for sure. In the hands of teenage boy, it will peel off 15 foot black rubber marks regularly from sitting still. It is a hoss.
The 67 Camaro is a treat to drive. It not only looks like a real man’s car, but it is also a great ride. With great handling and performance, this classic muscle car is a thrill to own. If you decide to buy one, you will be glad you did.

2010 Chevy Camaro SS
Chevrolet have officially announced the specifications of their 2010 Chevrolet Camaro models. Two engines are on offer initially, a 3.6 litre V6 with direct petrol injection and a pushrod overhead valve 6.2 litre V8. A six speed manual or six speed automatic gearbox are available for both engine variants.
The retro-styled Camaro body measures 4836 mm in overall length, and sits on a 2852 mm wheelbase. This is slightly bigger overall than the original Camaro, which had an overall length of 4689 mm and a wheelbase measuring 2746 mm. A conventional front engine, rear drive platform is used.
The 3.6 litre V6 has a 94.0 mm bore and a 85.6 mm stroke for a displacement of 3564 cc. The 24 valves are operated by a dual overhead camshaft per bank, and fuel is delivered via a high pressure direct injection setup. Variable valve timing helps keep emissions lower and improve power. The engine features an 11.3 compression ratio. Power and torque for the 3.6 litre is said to be 300 bhp (224 kW) at 6000 rpm and 273 ftlb (370 Nm) at 5200 rpm. This engine is standard on the Camaro LS and LT models.
The 6.2 litre V8 has a bore of 103.25 mm and a stroke of 92.0 mm. Multiport indirect injection and a 10.7 compression ratio endows the Camaro SS with 422 bhp (315 kW) at 5000 rpm and 408 ftlb (553 Nm) of torque at 4500 rpm, for the manual version. The automatic makes do with Active Fuel Management, which allows the engine to run on just four cylinders in suitably undemanding circumstances, reducing consumption and emissions. This engine is known as the L99 and produces 400 bhp (298 kW) at 5000 rpm and 395 ftlb (535 Nm) at 4500 rpm.
A convertible Camaro is slated to join the lineup at some stage.

2010 Chevrolet Camaro Concept is finally unleashed!
The new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Concept has become one of the most talked about cars in the American car industry. The Camaro line of cars has been in production since 1967 and was only discontinued in 2002, an impressive production span of 35 years.
Ever since the Chevrolet Camaro was discontinued in 2002, fans of the Camaro have been waiting impatiently for the new Chevrolet Camaro to be released. So far, GM has only introduced a number of new Chevrolet Camaro concept cars. A new Chevrolet Camaro production car still has not materialized. Reports, however have indicated that a line of new Chevrolet Camaro cars will be coming out by 2010. If this prediction actually comes true, this will be the fifth generation of the Chevrolet Camaro.
The first signal of the coming of a new Chevrolet Camaro first came out in 2006, during the North American International Auto Show. This concept version of the new Chevrolet Camaro tries hard to follow the footsteps of the original Camaro, featuring such iconic details as a two doors, four passenger format, rear wheel driven and connected to a powerful engine. The new Chevrolet Camaro also takes advantage of new car technologies, sporting a four wheel independent suspension system, four wheel disc brakes featuring four piston calipers and 14 inch rotors and different sized front and rear wheels. The front wheels are 21 inch wheels while the rear wheels are 22 inch wheels. The engine is an 6 litre LS2 V8 featuring Active Fuel Management and acapable of 400 hp.
In 2007, a new Chevrolet Camaro Concept was also unveiled. While the model shown in 2006 was a two door coupe, the 2007 model was a two door convertible. The design of the new Chevrolet Camaro Concept of 2007 differed significantly from the 2006 Chevrolet Camaro Concept. The 2007 concept car featured a number of exterior changes which ultimately subtly reshaped the car. A few of the changes include a drop off of the fender lines, reshaping of the rear spoiler and a redesign of the wheels which received a thin orange line at the outer edge. The mechanical specs of the car still remains similar with the model released in 2006.
The introduction of the new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Concept has severely excited the car markets. The new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro received a lot of exposure in the media and even received spots in several movies.
