If you may be wondering how to install a 57 Chevy windshield, you have come to the right place. The 1957 Chevy is a great classic car. It is one of the best cars to restore. It is pretty simple mechanically but their are some exterior elements that are not so simple. The 1957 Chevy had a reshaped windshield that differed from the 1955 model.

It is therefore very important to make sure that during the installation process, due care is imposed in order not to damage or cause tints to this one of the best American classic cars that still exist today.

Time Allotment: 10-15mins.

Cost: $15-$20

Materials Needed:

1. Twine – 1/16 in diameter
2. Rubber Moulding
3. Liquid Soap – 2 parts
4. Water – 1 part
5. Plastic Thin Tool
6. Tape
7. Small Container

The following are the steps on how to install a 57 chevy windshield:

1. Grab yourself of a very strong twine which has a diameter of 1/16.

2. Put the rubber moulding just around the windshield.

3. Place the 1/16 in diameter of twine right inside the groove of the moulding.

4. Make sure that you have about 2 inches of the twine overlapped to ensure that the twine stays inside the groove.

5. To make it a little bit secured get a tape, however, always put to mind not to cover the whole groove itself.

6. In a small container, mix 2 parts of liquid soap with one part of water. Always remember, the ratio is 2:1.

7. Then, with the use of the mixture lubricate the rubber moulding as well as the lip where the rubber moulding fits itself to the car.

8. Ask a help of your neighbor or a friend to help you out carry the glass and place it right against the car.

9. It’s now time, to ask your assistants to help you out in putting pressure unto the glass.

10. Then, get inside the car and slowly pull the twine off in order to pull the rubber off from the lip of the car.

11. Once the moulding pops off the twine, with care place the twine back on the lip with the use of a plastic thin tool. If you can’t find any plastic thin tool, you can make one yourself with the use of anything made out of plastic.

12. Just continue to pull the twine until such time that the moulding itself has been put into the lip of the car.

13. Never let go of the other end of the twine, since this part of the twine should remain in place while the other end is being pulled.

Viola! How to install a 57 chevy windshield has never been this easy!

The 1957 Chevy Bel Air, it is rare today to see stylish car like that drive by today. The 1950s were the pinnacle for American car makers. Companies like Oldsmobile, GM, Ford, Chrysler, and others were producing now-classic cars such as the Ford Thunderbird, the Cadillac Series 62, the Dodge Royal Lancer, and of course, the 1957 Chevy Bel Air. These cars had it all... style, power, comfort, but no car company had better cars in the 1950s then Chevy, especially the 1957 Chevy Bel Air. The 1957 Chevy Bel Air came in a number of varieties and configurations. Some of the styles the 1957 Chevy Bel Air came in are two door or four door. You could get the 1957 Chevy Bel Air as a convertible as well. Please read on for more details.

The Chevy Bel Air was only made by GM from 1950 to 1975. the Chevy Bel Air become its own series in the mid 1950s growing out of Chevy's Deluxe Styleline. It is interesting to note that Chevy continued to produce the Bel Air for Canada until 1981. The 1957 Chevy Bel Air is easily recognizable. It is amongst the most recognizable American cars. Classic Car collectors are always searching for a well maintained 1957 Chevy Bel Air. That has driven the price for this car up. 1957 Chevy Bel Air stood apart from its Ford and Chrysler competitors by using crisper and cleaner styling.

One of the most notable features of the 1957 Chevy Bel Air is its large beautiful tail fins. They extend the lines of the 1957 Chevy Bel Air naturally following from the hood to past the trunk. The 1957 Chevy Bel Air was also quite fuel efficient for its time. The 1957 Chevy Bel Air also has a lot to brag about under the hood. As opposed to earlier year versions, the 1957 Chevy Bel Air had a V8 option ( 265 cu in. with a high-compression, short stroke design). You could get the 1957 Chevy Bel Air with the regular V8 engine with 162 hp or with a "Powerpack" for 180hp or with a "Super Powerpack" for 195 hp. The trim of the 1957 Chevy Bel Air had a lot to offer as well. The 1957 Chevy Bel Air came with chrome on window moldings and front fenders. On the interior, the 1957 Chevy Bel Air stood out because it offered interior carpet in addition to standard features found on lower model cars.

Overall, the 1957 Chevy Bel Air is an exciting and highly sought after car. Congratulations if you already have one. If you do not yet, good luck to you on your quest for finding this beauty.

The 1950s were a great time for America. We were just coming off our Allied victory in World War 2. We had an economic boom stemming from our war time innovations. The late 1940s and 1950s was also the time of the baby boomers. In addition, the 1950s was known for the awesome cars made during this decade and there were a lot of them. There was the Ford Thunderbird, Ford Sunliner, Cadillac Series 62, Lincoln Premiere, Edsel Corsair and many others. None of them could compare with the 1957 Chevrolet. The 1957 Chevy is, simply put, an icon.

The classic 1957 Chevy came in a number of different varieties. There was a spectrum of options depending on which trim level the 1957 Chevy had. On the low end of the range was the 150 series of the 1957 Chevy. The mid-range trim level for this sweet car was the 210 series. The top of the line trim level was the Bel Air. In addition, you could get an upscale 1957 Chevy 210 two-door sedan. This was called the Delray. There were also two trim levels that are very rare but a limited number of 1957 Chevy cars had them. These trims were the Nomad, a two-door station wagon, and the "El Morocco." The "El Morocco" was a custom built 1957 Chevy. It was hand built to look like the Cadillac's of that time.

The first aspect of the 1957 Chevy that needs to be discussed is the engine. The 1957 Chevy had essentially the same engine as the 1955 model. It was a small-block V8. This was the first time that Chevy made a V8 available in one of its cars since 1918. There were also a number of body stylings that made the 1957 Chevy distinct and memorable. It stood out from the 1956 and 1955 model because the 1957 Chevy had fourteen-inch wheels instead of fifteen-inch wheels, there was a new dashboard made, the windshield was reshaped, the air ducts were moved to the headlight pods, and a new wide grille was installed. The famous 1957 Chevy tailfins were made to replicate the wide look of the front of the car. The 1957 Chevy was a real quality car. The Bel Air trim level even had elements rendered in gold.

When GM conceived the 1957 Chevy they expected it to be a hit that would outsell all competing cars. That was not the case. Ford far outsold the 1957 Chevy. It was the first time that Ford outsold GM since the mid-1930s. On the other hand, the 1957 Chevy is far more popular than any Ford model as a collector's car. Since the 1957 Chevy was relatively light weight for cars of that time and was pretty simple mechanically, people customized and built dragsters out of them. Nowadays, you could find a well taken care of and carefully restored 1957 Chevy selling for more than $100,000.
